Disney Cruise Line has given us our best look yet at the Disney Believe, revealing new details about the fourth ship in its Wish class ahead of its debut in late 2027.

And while Disney is still keeping most of Believe under wraps, we now know considerably more about the visual identity of the ship.

Moana Takes Over the Grand Hall
The biggest reveal is the Grand Hall, which will be inspired by Moana. Like the Cinderella-themed Grand Hall aboard Disney Wish, the Aladdin-inspired space aboard Disney Treasure and the Black Panther-themed Grand Hall aboard Disney Destiny, Believe’s central atrium will use a Disney story to establish the thematic identity of the ship.

On Believe, a bronze statue of Moana — accompanied by Pua and Heihei — will anchor the space. Disney says the design will draw from the South Pacific setting of the films, incorporating artisanal Polynesian finishes and references to the region’s cultural traditions.

Disney describes the ship’s broader theme as a celebration of belief in magic, family, nature and oneself, with the stories aboard Believe connected by the idea of believing in something fantastical.

That concept may ultimately prove more important than the Moana theming itself. The three existing Wish-class ships have increasingly demonstrated how Disney can use essentially the same architectural platform to create ships with markedly different personalities. Believe appears poised to continue that strategy.

Woody and Buzz Are Heading to the Stern
Disney also revealed Believe’s stern characters, and Pixar fans get this one. Woody and Buzz Lightyear will appear on the back of the ship, seemingly using giant yellow crayons to write the ship’s name.

There’s a fun departure from tradition here: instead of reproducing the familiar Disney Cruise Line script, Woody and Buzz will render “Disney Believe” in lettering inspired by the block typography associated with Toy Story.

It is a small detail, but exactly the sort of obsessive design flourish Disney Cruise Line does particularly well.

Tinker Bell Takes the Bow
At the opposite end of the ship, Tinker Bell will appear in the ornate gold filigree decorating Believe’s bow. Disney says the design will specifically reference Tinker Bell’s appearance in the 1953 animated Peter Pan, with silhouettes of Peter Pan, Wendy, Captain Hook and other characters incorporated into the surrounding artwork.

Together, the three reveals give Believe an unusually broad collection of Disney references before we’ve even seen most of the ship: Moana, Toy Story and Peter Pan all have prominent places in its exterior or central public space.

What Else Do We Know About Disney Believe?
Believe will be the fourth ship built on Disney’s Wish-class platform, following Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny.

Disney has also confirmed that the ship will feature new venues and entertainment drawing from Encanto, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Moana and The Little Mermaid. What Disney hasn’t revealed is arguably more interesting.

We still don’t know Believe’s homeport, itineraries, rotational dining lineup, signature adult restaurants, lounges or major entertainment offerings. Those announcements should tell us much more about whether Believe is essentially another highly themed variation on the Wish-class formula or whether Disney intends to make more substantial changes to the guest experience.

Disney has launched an ongoing “Ship’s Log” for Believe and says it will share behind-the-scenes looks at the ship’s construction, Imagineering process and entertainment development as work progresses.

For now, the takeaway is relatively simple: Disney Believe won’t reinvent the Wish class — but Disney is clearly giving its fourth iteration a distinct identity of its own.

The ship is currently under construction at Meyer Werft in Germany and is scheduled to begin sailing in late 2027.
